National Federation of the Blind of Oregon!!!
2011 Scholarship Program

Each year at its State convention in the fall, the NFB of Oregon gives several scholarships to recognize achievement by blind scholars. All applicants for these scholarships must be:

1. Legally blind in both eyes, and
2. Must be residing in the State, of Oregon.
3. Must be pursuing or planning to pursue a full-time, postsecondary course of study in a degree program at an Oregon State institution in the 2011 scholastic year, except that one scholarship may be given to a person employed full-time while attending school part-time, and
4. Must participate in the entire NFB of Oregon state convention and in all scheduled scholarship program activities.

In addition to a scholarship, each winner will be brought to the 2011 NFB of Oregon State Convention in at NFB of Oregon expense, providing an excellent opportunity for high level networking with active blind persons in many different professions and occupations.

The scholarship application deadline is March 31, 2011.

The National Federation of the Blind is an organization dedicated to creating opportunity for all blind people. To that end, recipients of NFB scholarships need not be members of the National Federation of the Blind. Each applicant will be considered for all scholarships for which he or she qualifies. All scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence, community service, and financial need. Individuals who have previously applied are encouraged to apply again.

The Scholarship Committee, consisting of successful blind college graduates, reviews all applications and selects the top applicants as the Scholarship Class of 2011. These three scholarship winners will be notified of their selection.

The Scholarship Committee will decide during the annual convention which award will be given to each winner. All decisions of the scholarship committee are final.

Each year's Scholarship Application information is made available online, and/or by contacting the NFB of Oregon State Office.
